Taylor Wessing advises Ieso Digital Health on £18m funding round

International law firm Taylor Wessing has advised Ieso Digital Health, the UK’s largest provider of online mental healthcare, on its £18m funding from Draper Esprit and Touchstone Innovations, to accelerate growth in its home market and the commercialisation of its transformative technology platform in the US.

The funding is Europe’s largest investment in online evidence-based behavioural health, and was jointly led by VC firm Draper Esprit and existing investor Touchstone Innovations.

Ieso Digital Health is making high quality, evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) available to more than 9 million people in the UK. It is available through the NHS as part of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT). Ieso’s service has recently been introduced in the US. The business has assembled one of the most experienced mental healthcare management teams to drive adoption in both markets comprising world class data scientists, renowned Artificial Intelligence development experts, first class clinicians, outstanding therapists and highly experienced executive leadership.

Dan Clark, CEO of Ieso Digital Health, commented: “This financing is a great vote of confidence in Ieso’s ability to become a global leader in mental health delivery and our technology. Up to 60% of people in the US alone have unmet behavioural health needs. This presents a major opportunity for Ieso to make a radical impact on healthcare outcomes and costs.”

Corporate Technology partner Adrian Rainey said: “We are absolutely delighted for Ieso on completing this substantial investment; a significant milestone in the acceleration of their commercial growth and which will allow them to serve even larger numbers of patients with their high-quality mental healthcare.”

The Taylor Wessing team advising Ieso Digital Health was led by Adrian Rainey and Simon Leslie from the Corporate Technology team.
